Portsea Life Saving Club Re-development
Portsea Surf Life Saving Club has been protecting the swimming public at the challenging Mt Levy Beach, better known as Portsea Back Beach, for over 65 years. In addition to maintaining a safe patrolled beach for the protection of the local community and a growing number of beach visitors, Portsea SLSC also provides a range of surf awareness and junior development programs designed to educate our children about some of the dangers that exist in our aquatic environment and to nurture our future lifesavers such that they may continue our proud legacy or “No lives lost”.
Sitting in what is arguably one of the most unforgiving environments in Australia, our Clubhouse which serves as the centre of our lifesaving operations, is in serious need of attention. Portsea SLSC is, therefore, appealing for help to raise the funds necessary to rebuild the Clubhouse to ensure the ongoing provision of life saving services at our beach and development of future generations of lifesavers so that you might leave our beach safely at the end of each day and return home to your family and friends. The new clubhouse will become a vital piece of community infrastructure, providing additional lifesaving and member services, access to community groups, school camps, and other learning opportunities.
